We offer a comprehensive prescribing service at our CQC registered Psychiatry & Prescribing clinic on Church Road in Wimbledon.

Our General Prescribing service is available for all clients of the Family Treatment Service to access. If you are not currently a client of The Family Treatment Service, please complete a client registration form and send a copy of any assessments or reports to our reception team reception@thefamilytreatmentservice.com who will share them with the prescribing team.

The Family Treatment Service is proud to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), demonstrating its commitment to providing safe, effective, accountable, and high-quality care.

The Prescribing Service

The first step in accessing the prescribing service is to have a medication triage call with our nurse prescriber for £100. However, if you have already had a psychiatric assessment with The Family Treatment Service, your psychiatrist will agree with you on a plan going forward.

Following the triage call, and if the prescribing service is indicated, an appropriate appointment with a psychiatrist will be recommended. These appointments are charged at £300 for 30 minutes and £600 for 60 minutes.

Please note, regular medication reviews are required to ensure any medication you have been prescribed is working well. If you/your child has been prescribed a new medication it is essential that a follow-up appointment is booked. The cost of follow-up appointments is £300 per 30 minutes. Additional reviews may be required and the frequency and duration of these will be agreed with your prescriber based on how you/your child is responding to the medication.

When a suitable medication is agreed upon, a prescription will be processed through our online pharmacy, Cloud RX, and delivered directly to you. The cost of prescriptions are included in the price of medication appointments, however repeat prescriptions are chargeable. The cost of medication is not included in medication appointments.

Your GP may be willing to enter a ‘Shared Care Agreement’ and take over the prescribing of your medication/s once a stable dose has been achieved, however, this is at the complete discretion of your GP.

If they decline, and you wish to continue accessing our prescribing service, it will be necessary for you to continue to pay for your medication and attend medication follow up appointments with the Family Treatment Service. If they agree, it is still necessary to be reviewed by your psychiatrist at The Family Treatment Service at a frequency agreed between your psychiatrist and GP.

Please note, we cannot guarantee you will be prescribed medication. A decision will be made by your prescriber based on the outcome of the assessment/initial medication appointment.

If you have any further questions that are not answered in our FAQs, please email us with your queries.
